MAGIC KINGDOM
A huge misconception about this park is that it only meant for small children. Don’t believe the lies!!! Every Disney park is designed for all ages! My husband and I went several times before we had kids..we also took our 12 year old niece one year and have taken my daughter as young as 18 months…it was magical every. single. time!! In fact I would highly recommend going before you have children. You can experience everything for yourself as an adult..and then when you go with your young children, you can just focus on them and not feel like you are missing out on anything.
Magic Kingdom is broken up into 6 different themed lands. As you enter the park, you will walk down Main Street USA. This will mostly be shops and places to grab food, although you might find a few characters waiting to meet you. The Best part of Main Street, is the view..you walk into an iconic view of Cinderellas castle..it just gets more magical the closer you get! Next you will see Tomorrowland. This part of the park allows you to step into “the future”, you will find space themed rides and characters such as Buzz Lightyear and Stitch! Fantasyland is probably my favourite as it is filled with all the classic Disney characters. When you walk through this area, you really feel like you have stepped into a story book..you can eat at the Beasts castle, or have Belle read you a story..I could spend all day just in this part of the park! Liberty Square pays homage to early America. You can see some American History like the Liberty Bell (witch was actually cast from the mold of the actual Liberty Bell in 1989) while enjoying classic rides like “The Haunted Mansion” which has always been my husbands favourite! Frontierland is themed to the American Frontier of the 19th century. You feel as though you have stepped back into the wild west while enjoying some classic rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railways and Splash Mountain..it’s rumoured that Splash mountain will be receiving an update by being reworked into a Princess and The Frog theme vs the current theme that is Song Of The South..although its a classic, its outdated and could use the upgrade. Last but not least, Adventureland is just that..an adventure themed land that contains everything from Pirates to Aladdins Magic Carpet Ride. You can explore the Swiss Family Tree House and even take part in a secret pirate treasure hunt!

Characters
In addition to these attractions, there are also multiple character experiences. The most popular Characters Like Mickey and Minnie as well as some of the more popular princesses will have a specific spot inside (with air-conditioning) they will even have a pretty backdrop to make the experience that much more magical. For these characters you will have the option of using a lightning lane if you opted to purchase Genie Plus. Several of the restaurants in the park will also have “Character Dining“, characters walk around and greet you while you are eating. A great way to take a break and get something to eat, while still getting to enjoy meeting some fun characters! These are the characters you can find at Magic Kingdom and there location. For your sanity, I will tell you know, there is no way to do it all in one day..especially with young kids. Pick the must do rides and head to those first. Also, be sure to use the My Disney Experience app to track where the long lines are so you can avoid lines ups when possible. If you are going with young children, be sure to have a stroller so they can give there little legs a break when they need to. Its worth it to have a stroller that reclines, so they will hopefully take a nap throughout the day!
